The short version

Benzeen keeps your cars, fill-ups, tolls, services and fines on your iPhone. If you sign in with Apple, a backup goes to your own private iCloud, which we cannot read. We have no servers that store your data, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

What stays on your iPhone

• Location is used on your iPhone to notice fuel-station stops, measure trips and count Salik and Darb crossings. It is never uploaded.
• Motion & fitness tells driving from walking. It stays on your iPhone.
• Camera and photos are used only when you scan a VIN or a fuel receipt. The text is read on your iPhone.
• Notifications (fuel-stop questions, service and renewal reminders, the weekly report) are created on your iPhone.

Sign in with Apple and iCloud backup (optional)

If you create an account, Apple shares an anonymous identifier with the app and, the first time only, your name and email if you choose to share them. These stay on your iPhone. Your backup is saved in your private iCloud database (CloudKit); only your iCloud account can access it.

What leaves your iPhone

• VIN look-ups: when you decode a VIN, only the VIN is sent to the free vehicle database of the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA vPIC) to get the make, model and engine.
• Maps: nearby fuel stations are found with Apple Maps, under Apple's privacy policy.

We do not sell, share or collect personal data, and the app contains no third-party analytics or advertising code.

Deleting your data

In the app, Settings › Account › Delete account deletes your iCloud backup, your profile and everything on your iPhone. Without an account, Settings › Your data › Erase everything removes all data. Deleting the app also removes everything stored on your iPhone.

Children

Benzeen is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
